Is There a Risk of Perforation?
If the patient continues to have marginal ulcers, we would recommend a revision. We don't really have any literature that says what their lifetime risk of perforation or recurrent ulcers is. There are some ideas, endoscopically,. about over sewing the ulcer. Using the overstitch device, putting normal mucosa over the ulcer seems to allow it to heal. But you know, if they also are showing other i hate to say non compliance, beause i really don't like that word.
