Is the Old Testament Written to the Christian?
The promise that the exiles who went to Babylon, the promise of prosperity, all the plans I have you plans to give you a hope in the future, 70 years from now, by the way, that promise does not apply to 21st century Christians. The same thing is true with Jeremiah 4411: You're not going to be judged if you go to Egypt today. If we are turning away from what the Lord has told us to do, then yes, we will reap the consequences of that disobedience as well. But this doesn't mean that every exact promise or curse in the Old Testament will come true in the lives of New Testament believers.
