The Importance of Competence in Communication

A new literacy is to have a psychological awareness of the fact that terms can be equivocal. You know, if you are communicating with somebody, and they're used to the term doesn't make any sense to you, you are likely dealing with an equivocation or perhaps even distinct linguistic histories where they're using that word to mean something completely differently. And having, for example, an emotional response of curiosity and the ability to activate a disambiguation protocol rather than wanting to punch them in the face or cancel them, right?
