Because I feel like his answer to the question of what could it have happened without slavery was something like, well, theoretically, anything is possible it could have, but it never did. That exact same argument, I think, could be made about the Indian nationalist movement. It's sort of more continuum, you know, life and turner in societies is also full of domination. Totally.
