What Is Scientific Break Even?

A scientific break even is the energy produced by fusion divided by the energy you deliverd to the fusion fuel. For example, you can be creating ten megawats of fusion power at any instant of time, but yet you're applying 15 megawat of heating power. And when they become equal, that's a scientific breakeven. In inertial fusion, it would be the lazer energy that you're shining on your capsule. Unless i'm wrong, this is widely appreciated to represent a watershed moment for fusion.
