When he was in seminary, I worked for a commercial contractor. And we built decks and did framing and stuff like that all over Kansas City. So I learned the trades that way. That's what introduced me personally to the trades after having, you know, those models back in western Pennsylvania that I admired. When it came to patriarchy, because I knew that the left was not sound in terms of its approach to family life, I took an interest in learning about how the household was understood prior to the modern era.
