In the eighties, industrial policy in Japan was seen as a key reason for its success. But it turned out to be one tenth of one % of gross domestic investment. And most of that went to their worst industries, like agriculture. The whole thing blew up in his face when the japanese economy tanked and ours took off. It all comes down to the fact that these people are socialists. They will never change their tune.
