Nagel's Inconcevability Argument

Nagel: Only way to know what it's like to be a bat is to become one, which is obviously not conceivable. He believes that we can only do our best to envision what it'slike to be a bats and to fly around the world. The inconcevability argument might be seen as a barrier to our human ability to comprehend the universe at all. Accepting that there are certain things which we will never be able to grasp may prevent us from understanding and expanding our frontiers of knowledge.
