How Did You Learn to Read When You Were a Child?

I was shy and then I learned to be a chameleon. It really kept me from feeling like I belonged anywhere. But that is how I led my childhood lightness. I never felt like I fit in. I was really happiest with a book. Why do we tell kids when they're so interested and focused and we're loving something that we tell them that they can't do that anymore? They have to be the other thing. Yeah, it's silly.
