The Disempowering Power of London
A lot of my personal radicalization was just spending a lot of time in London and essentially tapping into what it must feel like to be a Londoner. I've always been quite conscious of something that is you know very sadly is disappearing with you on the vine which is that there was an aesthetically distinct working-class identity to the Londoner. The original kind of London work-class community gradually get pushed further and further out and gradually get more and more isolated in particular forms of housing surrounded by gentrification or stuff like that. It's difficult to know London from the outside because it's all outside very difficult to know how the communities the stable continuities of certain communities here are fading away
