Is It a Black Sheep or a Pure Mathematician?

I think statistics is a very different way of thinking. Not everything that we do is pure mathematics. A lot of what i do is eloping new statistical models. I've always been really fascinated by medicine, and just love the fut that i'm helping people. My master's dissertation was on extreme value theory. It's dealing with extremes such as extreme weather or flood levels. And i found it really interesting to extrapolate out into the future.
