"I don't know at this stage in the book because like I said, I don't plan whether it eventually becomes a huge thing or it's just something that is a bit more of a red herring," he says. The jotting on those post it notes make sense to anyone but you? "If you have too much of that stuff, it becomes quite boring... so you need to give the reader something else."
