There's a sense in Europe that people have come to their own conclusions on many issues, says Finn Balbiam. The EU and the US are backing Ukraine according to citizens from those four countries because they want to maintain the Western hegemony. That sort of stuff is anathema to European officials who very much have adopted the stance of Putin must be defeated at all costs. It'll be interesting to see what comes next about China's global security initiative.
