John Moore was a man who had his spleen removed back in 1976. He was asked by the consultant and the hospital to come back to donate further tissue. The legal situation in the UK and in the States is that if any tissue is taken from my body, it ceases to be my property. And he discovered that actually a $3 billion cell line had been created from his tissue.
