Schultz and Kafka: A Mythological Dimension

Schultz has been compared to Kafka. He even goes so far as to write about or imply shape-shifting. Schultz was writing about this in the 1930s before any of this was a political reality, but I think he sensed the direction in which Jewish life in that part of the world was tending. There's something deeply prescient, I would say, about all of this. It could be an expression of how deeply unstable reality can be.
