The Problems With Scheduled Power Outages
South Africa has up to 12 hours of load shedding or power outages a day so that we can share the electricity load between everybody. So essentially what's happening is that our supply is unable to meet our demand. On any given day with the demand for electricity in South Africa sits between 28,000 megawatt and 34,000 megawatts. The challenge is that the infrastructure at these power plants have not been maintained and it's aging.
