The Gender Gap in Criminology
A lot of people believe that this type of crime could only have been committed by a man. Cesar Lombroso, who was very famous in our field as being the father of what we call positivistic criminology, said female offenders possessed masculine traits. So all of these theories were so they're so dated now, but they were so obviously sexist. About 15 to 20% of all crime is committed by females. But when you look at murder, women only make up 5 to 10%.
