He then has to prove he's not disoriented by the water's crushing pressure by giving the ok sign within 20 seconds of surfacing,. If he is unable to do this in this order, the dive is disqualified. Black outs happen when divers push their limits too far r and oxygen reserves are drained - 60 recreational free divers die each year.
