Jassy: I find staircases is a really useful tool to help managers get lean into risk. The idea is, do we have enough information and perhaps a small enough stake that we can actually make the first few moves toward an audacious goal? We may not be able to see all the strategic moves in front of us, just like a great chess player may not know all the moves that are in front of them. Jassy: People who make only slow and tentative moves, right, often end up again making dumb moves.
