Is There Any Advice on Career Planning?

As a manager, how do you help your reports achieve their career goals? You have any advice on that? As an individual, if i am trying to manage my own career, a manager might need to coach or help there those that they lead to to do the same. What level do they aspire to? What are the skills and challenges and things they want to take on? How can you find ways to give them opportunities to utilize those strengths in really effective ways?
