Marge PiaC's Woman on the Ed of Time is a 1976 novel that is, I think, explicitly thinking about the dialectic of sex by Shulama Firestone. The anti-social family by Michelle Barrett and Mary McIntosh from the 80s was one of the clearest cases for why it makes sense to talk about abolishing rather than reforming the family.
