Socrates and the Clouds
Socrates was often seen about his native athens, being followed around by young men who enjoyed the way that he made them question some of the received opinions. To most people in athens, he was justifiably seen as a strange man. And it wasn't just ethics he was curious about. He would read books and talk to intellectuals about the nature of the heavenly bodies and the gods, and possibly even insects. His interests were boundless, and he would famously bother and embarrass respectable citizens their questions too.
