Everything Is a Symbol
Culture is not just the art and architecture, but that these are only culture's outward markers. We build a physical culture around us where children are all reared on certain stories. And those outward manifestations are all fragmentary symbols of that soul. You can reverse engineer those manifestations to get a glimpse into what those people were like. The most engaging thing about history for me was realizing that everything, everything is a symbol.
