I Think It's Been a Really Disorienting Reporting Experience
There was a broad consensus that everyone involved in the violence or the attack should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Then over the course of months, and really by the summer of 20 21, the narrative had completely shifted. And i've talked with people who were there that day who have't themselves started to believe conspiracy theories about things that they saw with their own eyes. I don't think there's any consensus nation wide about this event. You know, maybe the broad middle sees it for what it was, an extremely violent attack that attempted to overturn the election. But a lot of people on the far right do not believe that,. including, you know, Donald trump.
