James II moved from Edinburgh to london. He brought with him a group of trusted scottish advisers. The court was still important in Scotland, but the lack of king's presence was keenly felt. Over 40% of higher court appointments in the royal bedchamber went to scot's. This led to complaints from the english about favoritism and lack of access to the ear of their king.
