Gen Z seems to be searching for broader freedoms and a world dominated by corporations. Economic downturns that cost higher education, the crisis in housing and the stagnation of work has all shaped how people think about career paths. The 2008 great financial crisis was much more impactful for most people in this generation. Being born into a time of market failure is very formative.
