In the late 19 eighties, americans saved roufly ten percent of their disposable personal income. That started to decline, and then by 19 95, they saved only three percent of their earnings. The number has rebounded and shot up in the pandemic. But u unless, you know, interest rates go up again, i i think itw'll probably go back down. People just don't save anymore - which i guess you could say is good for our consumer economy because it's driven by consumerism.
