The instructions concerning dress give the strong impression that paul is addressing a situation where women might behave otherwise. In this context, women are instructed to learn quietly with all submissiveness. Paul's concern then seems to be broader than merely the possibility that women might convey false teaching. The three verses with which the chapter ends refer back to the creation narrative. This is not the first time that paul has used the creation narrative to make a point about the relationship between men and women.
