The History of the First Zoo in Ancient Egypt
Archaeologists found bones from the year 4000 BCE before the invention of writing and before the Great Pyramids. But what they didn't find were traces of the zoo like we know them today. Some hippos had broken legs, monkeys had broken hands, and there were even antelope bones that had markings on them consistent with being tied up.
