The History of Rome by Cassius Dio

Cassius dio was exiled from rome following threats by the pretorians that they had grown tired of. Dio seems mostly to have retired from public life and spent the bulk of his time completing an 80 volume history of Rome written in greek. The history begins with the arrival of aeneas in italy and went right up to the present day, that is, the reign of alexander. Alexander will get his first taste of war next week when he needs to muster an army to take on parthia.
