Women have receded in every way, from o the economic space, from public spaces as such. I think i realized very early on that my view of privilege was wrong. If you grew up as an uppercaste hindoo woman, then there are many things that you are simply not going to see. My rule has been much more the participant, the observer in all of these protests. But i've never felt that it's a good idea to pass the mike to people who are actually their engaging wits struggles on the ground.
