Is the Use of Nuclear Weapons More Likely Now?
As long as countries have nuclear weapons, there's always the risk that they may be used. Now that there's an actual war on where Russia is doing poorly, it's clear that the risks have gone up. We don't know whether he views the success or failure of his war in Ukraine as existential for him. If he were to lose the war, would he view that as being cat him out to his own suicide and would he be prepared to escalate? Those are the risks that as a nuclear power, the United States and NATO as a nuclear alliance must consider.
