The Evolution of the Neanderthals

Chris Stringer: Neanderthals moved across the bridge because of one of these oscillations in whether you're talking about there was a land bridge moved into what we basically call Europe. So now we're concentrating around that area. By the 1900s, other partial Neanderthal skeletons in the Miffon, in Belgium and Croatia, particularly France. Later on they turn up in the Middle East. And even as far away as Pakistan. We've probably got something like a thousand individuals represented over several hundred thousand years.
