How Do You Defend Your Metrics?
The way I go about setting up that conversation to defend metrics is generally always anchored in business goals and the yearly goals for the company. So this is why these ones fit for us. Also, for example, you know, what I referenced before with this scaling company who's going to have expanding headcount and focusing their metrics on engineering excellence. We're looking at things like Dora metrics and thinking these frameworks,. But then also supplementing that with metrics about onboarding time to first commit local development. These are all things that enable the business goals of scaling up a team.
