The Problem of Luck
Nagel's theory is that the differences between these two people, one person hits the pedestrian, one person doesn't, is a result of luck. And why do we hold one person responsible not the other? He chunks this into four categoris but we really only need three of them. These groups are somewhat overlapping in various ways. But it's as a rough chunking, it's useful to recognize the usual move that people make to avoid the problem of luck.
