What amos is warning them about is there're some problems that we need to talk about. To see what those issues are, we have to kind of back track a little bit into amos five a little earlier. We see in verse seven that they're neglecting justice. They think they're honoring god and living for him by having all these festivals. But it's going to be their undoing and not their benefit.
