Introduction
Barry sadler was an altogether odd man. At the time he wrote to maor that song, he was on active duty in the military. Saddler's record became one of those massive fluke hits,. selling over nine million copies and getting him appearances on the ead sullivan show. He moved to nashville, tennessee, where he lived until he shot lee emerson, a country song writer who had written songs for marty robins, in the head., killing him in an argument over a woman. And just as a brief warning, his story, which will last a minute or so, involves gun violence.
