"I think that they were probably surveilling him. So we've kind of had a good guess, it might be him on the evening of the 12th," he said. "They showed up at his house at early morning on the 13th and then it was very clear immediately he was under surveillance." The idea wasn't to like, dox him and rat him out and say like, this is the leaker, everyone look,. It was talk to him because, you know, if it's the guy who has the biggest trench with US documents and Snowden, it's obviously a story when we talk to the guy", he added.
