How to Top Off Muscle Glycogen
The goal with peak week is to top off muscle glycogen. Your body stores carbohydrates in the form of glycogen in the liver and in the muscles. Brady had a really great plan for me. We tested it two weeks prior. So on March 10th, it's about two weeks out from the show, I had 180 grams of protein, 600 grams of carbs, 65 grams of fat. That was spread out through multiple meals throughout that day. And what happened was I woke up the next morning feeling tight, hard and firm. Even in the afternoon, I got tighter and harder. At about 30 hours after I tested this carb backloading approach, I was filled out.
