The Punishment of a Rebel Peasant
In 1514, she witnessed the execution of the leader of a rebel peasant who was rising up against the nobles. According to a 16th century hungry almanac, he was pretty much roasted alive. His accomplices were punished by being fed their leader's flesh, impaled, broken on the wheel, and hanged.
