The Passover Eucharist of the New Covenant
When your body and blood are separated, death begins. So jesus is symbolically and actually beginning the sacrifice. Saint augustine said that our lord held himself in his own hands and commenced the sacrifice of the new covenant passover as he was transforming the old calvary.
