The Tea Act - A New Piece of Tea Based Obnoxiousness

The tea act has nothing to do with the duty on tea left over from the townsend acts. The issue parliament was trying to address is one i briefly mention last week. The east india company was in a deplorable state of financial disrepair and needed a bail out. Now this might temporarily be good for the consumer, but it would be devastating to the independent colonial economy. In effect, reduced them all to a bunch of manual laborers producing raw materials for the home country and nothing more.
