Fr the reason that i focused on the concept is precisely because it isn't so difficult in the way that it's currently used. It has become a kind of shorthand to describe many different and arguably quite different things. And so it was really the ease of the use of the concept, rather than the difficulty, that iam trying to redress in the book.
