The Chemistry Starter Kit for Life

If stephen webb is right and we're alone in the universe, do we have a responsibility to kickstart life on other worlds? Is that or our mission, if you will, in life. Perhaps humans would be long gone, but this life that we had ceded throughout the universe would go on. And perhaps some of that life would persist long enough for an intelligent, advanced alien life to develop.
