The Meta-Consensus in Philosophy
In any field where there is ongoing research or scholarship, you will find experts disagreeing. But there is a large number of issues and notions on which philosophers actually do agree. For instance, what the structure of an argument is supposed to be - that's like a meta-consensus. That's a universal consensus. Well, it's not logic. Now, it's about logic again. And there is no disagreement on how that's going to work. I can come up with a counter example, actually. A few philosophers argue that our intuitions are a good guide to what exists in the world. Right. So the structure ofan argument is a part of logic. There is no
