Is Propositional Truth Prioritized?
Maria Coppola: I think rationality and empiricism are absolutely vital. But there is a contemporary notion that because somehow truth has been questioned or undermined, we can chuck out rationalism and rationality. She says philosophy should be about trying to make a coherent overall story of the world in order to make sense of our thought but it's very hard to pin down what they think.coppola: There is an overall world view embedded in a good deal of analytic philosophy which is not made explicit. It's actually very difficult to put together a theory to defend it so you've got to argue over little bits of definition rather than get somewhere else.
