The Importance of Joy
Jesus' long-term goal for your life is to grow and mature us into the kind of people for whom that level of joy, that's our default setting. Jesus makes this desire of God explicit in his teaching, particularly in the gospel of John. In 17, I say these things while I'm still in the world so that you may have the full measure of my joy within you.
