How Lobbying Has Manifested Itself on the AI Act

Lobbying has a bad name, but you've got to need to have some kind of interface. We recognise that different interest groups want to promote their interest and want to peddle influence where they can. There is an element of transparency there already in the lobbying process, which I think is good. A lot of private sector bodies naturally are averse to regulation. They believe in a free market, they want it to operate with as few impediments as possible. That does fly in the face of sort of core principles of the European Union when it comes to conflicts. But generally, private sector entities will obviously try and lobby to minimise their regulation.
