Mike Downey: Without regard to what's actually happening with the virus, we are not only accepting the fact that the pandemic's behind us. He says it's very hard to know what is happening much of the world without surveillance systems like Johns Hopkins Global Coronavirus dashboard no longer collects and reports international COVID data. "I don't know where we're at in the pandemic, but I can surely say we're in a much better place," he said.
