The Multi vs. Open Beta: A Way to Stop, Make Changes, Get New Characters, Reset, Come Back and Blah
Multi versus open beta launched in July 2022 and was initially very popular with a peak of more than 143,000 players on day one. Since then, however, the daily peak player count has dramatically fallen. Part of the reason for the drop in players may be a temporary response to the game season two content. The game's first season saw the release of five new characters over the course of around two months. However, since season two started in mid November, just one character, Marvin the Martian has been released. Season three was due to begin on March 31st, but now season two battle passes have been extended until the open betas closure.
